’We absolutely love our new garden. It has been so good getting advice about what to plant as our garden is North facing. My husband and I were a bit clueless, and in the past have wasted money planting plants that were just not suitable. It has been such fun watching the flowers and plants emerge each season and it has brought us great joy. Carole listened to what we wanted and designed the small garden appropriately. I would certainly recommend Carole and the expert advice is invaluable. Thank you.

We asked Carole to design and plant a very shady area under a large tree in our front garden and to also supplement the planting in our back garden. This was only done a few weeks ago and already the plants are looking well established and beginning to flower. We’re really looking forward to seeing both gardens develop. Carole and her team were very approachable and professional and it was a pleasure working with them all. I would highly recommend.

My experience with Design Heights was exceptional and I am so happy with my garden. I had an initial meeting with Carole where she looked at the space and listened to what I wanted and manifested it into reality! Would definitely recommend.

The result is fantastic, achieving the brief. We did it within our revised budget – including Carole’s fees – which were sensible. We simply could not have done this without her expertise in the process. It may be in the next few years we could adapt the plans or reuse them to some extent. It has transformed the view of the garden, and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks so much Carole!

Carole immediately understood what I was looking for and created a design which perfectly reflected this. My rather bleak looking fully paved patio garden has now been transformed into a proper garden with a neat path down the middle and planting areas on each side with lots of interesting plants that I’m looking forward to seeing develop!

Last year we engaged Carole to transform our weed-infested, featureless garden into a bird-friendly space that we can enjoy. The process was very thorough. After the initial consultation, Carole took us through a detailed design brief; covering what we wanted in the garden and, more importantly, how we wanted to use it. The whole process was very collaborative. Carole listened carefully to our opinions and wishes and compromises were made, where necessary.

She worked with a landscaper to implement the plan, during the wettest Autumn possible. It was a cold, wet, muddy and seemingly endless time. But eventually it all came together.

We also contracted Carole to provide a planting plan, which took into account the few plants and shrubs we wanted to keep. She naturally considered the garden’s aspect and soil type, (clay soil, full shade, dappled shade and full sun), and our requirements for year-round interest and a very natural look. She expertly chose the most appropriate plants and I take my hat off to her and her team who dug into thick clay to plant out the garden.

Now we have a truly gorgeous garden. The patio envelopes the rear of the house, an old concrete shed base has been cloaked by an unusually-shaped deck and pergola, the uneven rear fence has disappeared behind a modern slatted facade, and a palisade hides the raised vegetables beds. The old patio bricks have been recycled into new paths and our various sculptures and new water feature are highlighted in the gravel areas.

We are delighted with the end result. I can’t stop looking at it! Every day, rain or shine, I look at the garden from my windows, or take a walk around it to see how it’s doing. I love it! it was a big investment but very well worth it as it will give us years of pleasure.

Carole was recommended to us by a friend while we were living in Singapore. We had our house renovated and needed someone to help us with ideas to turn our empty borders into a lovely garden.

Carole was very approachable and understanding of our situation. Working with Carole from abroad was easy as she listened to our needs and expectations, she organised zoom calls, presentations and responded promptly on email. She knew the local area well and was able to recommend a wide variety of plants to suit the heavy clay soil in our garden. We returned to the UK just as the lockdown began, this meant our garden planting was on hold for a few weeks. Carole once again was very professional and once the lockdown was lifted we were able to continue. Having Carole onsite and through her contacts we were able to have the plants delivered and planted in no time. We are very pleased with the end result and are enjoying the view through our large new lounge window.

Carole transformed our garden from a literal building site following our extension build. She took time to understand our needs, and created space for each member of the family to enjoy, our 5 year old is particularly delighted with his new treehouse. The planting has been great and it has been a real delight this spring/summer to see what is going to pop up next.

We commissioned Carole to help transform our back garden from an uninspiring square lawn to a lush haven for wildlife and a place of adventure for our daughter. She did not disappoint and we are so happy with our new garden! She listened to us and our brief, understood what we wanted and then transformed it all with her creative flourish into something much better than we’d ever have been able to come up with ourselves. We were also very pleased with how much she managed to conserve and re-use, avoiding unnecessary cost and waste.

The process took a while but the planting was finally done at the end of last year and this spring has just been pure joy watching the different plants come to life.

We’re going to commission her to do our front garden as well in the near future, and would happily recommend her to anyone looking to get more out of their outside spaces.

Carole from Design Heights has designed the planting for a few areas of our estate in the last year and they all look fantastic!

She has transformed a very tired, neglected area of our shared area into a beautiful space, adding new planting whilst working with the existing shrubs and trees. Even through the winter it looked good and should look tops come the summer!

Would recommend Carole and the Design Heights team to anyone who wants their garden to look beautiful.

Carole from Design Heights Garden Design has been a pleasure to work with throughout. She was able to take my brief, design a masterplan within the budget constraints I had and deliver a layout and design better than expected.

I was especially impressed with her understanding of what plants would be appropriate in the shadier areas of my garden whilst keeping the colour and plant type I wanted in mind.

Carole is dependable and always available for questions, very helpful and I plan to work with her again.

I highly recommend Carole, she took our overgrown, unmanageable garden and created our perfect, low maintenance stylish space. Carole and her extended team were all polite and efficient.

We are so happy with our garden now…

We are thrilled with our new garden. It’s incredible to think it has only been planted for a short time it looks well established and as it if has been here for years. Working with Carole has been a pleasure throughout. Our garden is small, on two levels, and is north-facing, so it’s not the easiest plot. But Carole has made the most of every square inch, this is partly down to her re-positioning of the steps and the clever inclusion of a built-in bench. Carole has also ensured year-round interest in the plants and we’re really looking forward to the rest of the year and seeing the garden develop. We highly recommend Design Heights and Carole if you want a beautiful and functional garden.

Carole helped us design the garden, draw a planting plan and implement the entire project.

Carole spent a lot of time discussing our needs and preferences with us illustrating various options, which was very helpful, because we literally have zero experience and knowledge with gardening. During the build phase, Carole was always available for questions and to help coordinate with builders. We are extremely happy with the garden this year, when the bulbs come out this spring and plants grow much bigger! We are still in contact with Carole for maintenance and some random questions, and she is as helpful as always. We will recommend Carole to anyone who wants to improve their garden!

Carole was so approachable and patient with me and our garden. She was very happy to work with our existing planting and filled all the gaps with a range of lovely shrubs and perennials last autumn. Now Spring is here, I’m enjoying watching everything grow and I’m excited to see how the garden changes and what flowers pop up over the next few months. I have so enjoyed the fabulous display of purple and orange tulips, which I can see from my kitchen window!

Great design service from Carole, she listened carefully to our brief, working within our budget, and adjusted her ideas for us as we went along. We now have a lovely family garden with a super grownup escape space. The planting scheme and space makes me feel like I am sat within a display garden at Chelsea Flower Show!

We moved into our new home just over a year ago and the garden was lack-lustre to say the least, with 3 plants and an ugly raised broken patio. Carole from Design Heights met with us to understand our wish-list and ideas. She then created beautiful hand-drawn designs, sketches and sourced plant images, which really helped us visualise how the final result would look – invaluable as we are not gardeners. She added to our original plan, creating more visual interest through additional planting and even suggested we incorporate some metal artwork we had unhung in our garage making our space unique.

The team then got cracking with hard and soft landscaping and before we knew it we had a garden, which meets the needs of our whole family plus 2 dogs and a cat! The planting is beautiful, with year-round interest and a vibrate colour palate that ties everything together and importantly was done on budget.

We would not hesitate to recommend Design Heights to anyone who wants to make the most of their garden – Carole is professional, friendly and creative.

Andrea RIPPE, Camberwell

Carole from Design Heights has designed our dream courtyard garden. She helped us choose appropriate plants for our super sunny and super shady sites and came up with a really eye catching design for beds, borders and planters based on our love of Hebridean island plants transported to South London. She relocated some of our old plants which have now flowered for the first time and added height, depth and breadth as well as cool colours.

We love being able to refer to our planting plan when wondering what this or that plant is. Carole also brought Steven in to do the hard landscaping and he was excellent – careful, strong and with excellent recommendations of his own.

We couldn’t be happier with the Design Heights team!

Working with a self-managed estate consisting of thirty one separate houses can be a tricky business, the dry land equivalent of shark-infested waters. Happily Carole from Design Heights was up for the challenge and from initial planning to final implementation the process was amazingly smooth. A year later the whole estate is reaping the benefits of a professional and creative planting scheme, which will no doubt endure and give pleasure for many more years to come.

Carole, top plants-woman, triumphs again!

We asked Carole to turn the front yard of our Victorian terrace just off the Old Kent Road from a dumping ground (Southwark Council wheelie bins, pizza boxes and anything else that blew through) into a functional space with planting to lighten the heart and gladden the soul and she’s done just that. Racing against time to catch the end of the planting season, the yard was cleared and planted up just before the Winter set-in. We now can’t wait for Spring to admire the planting design as it matures.
